Fresh Watermelon Cubes

Fresh watermelon is sweet and juicy. Serve this fresh fruit side often when Georgia Grown watermelons are in season.

Fresh Watermelon Cubes

Ingredients:

  • 33 lbs Watermelon, fresh

Steps:

  1. Remove sticker, if needed. Rinse melons in cool, running water.
  2. Cut 1/2-inch off both ends to create a flat surface. Stand watermelon upright on one flat end.
  3. Cut off the rind, following the shape of the watermelon.
  4. Slice the watermelon into ½-inch to 1-inch slices. Then cut each slice into cubes.
  5. Use a #8 scoop or a 4-ounce spoodle to portion out 1/2 cup of watermelon cubes into individual serving containers for easy service
  6. Hold at 41°F or below.

  7. Serving is 1/2 cup.
