Hot Orange Chicken Street Tacos

These street tacos feature orange glazed breaded chicken, homemade hot honey and topped with creamy cilantro-lime slaw. They are the perfect blend of sweet and spicy – absolutely delicious!

DAY PRIOR TO SERVICE:

  1. Prepare the Hot Honey Glaze recipe.
  2. Prepare the Pickled Red Onions.
  3. Make the Creamy Cilantro-Lime Slaw dressing.

DAY OF SERVICE:

  1. Spray perforated sheet pans with pan spray and place frozen breaded chicken pieces in a single layer.
  2. The perforations allow for greater air flow which results in crisper crusts on the breaded chicken.

  3. Cook chicken at 350°F for 11-13 minutes.
  4. Cook to 135°F or higher. Commercially processed, ready-to-eat food that will be hot held for service must reach a minimum internal temperature of 135°F or higher.

  5. Place chicken in a large mixing bowl and toss with Hot Honey Glaze to fully coat.
  6. No bare hand contact with ready to eat food.

  7. To assemble, stack two tortillas on top of each other. See the picture for reference.
  8. Fill each tortilla with 6 orange glazed chicken pieces and drizzle 1 tablespoon Hot Honey Glaze over chicken. The add 2 tablespoons Creamy Cilantro-Lime Slaw and finish by adding 1 tablespoon Pickled Red Onions on top.
  9. Hot hold, loosely covered, for service.
  10. Hold at 135°F or above.

  11. Street tacos should be batch assembled every 30-35 minutes throughout service to maintain flavor, quality, and texture.
  12. Serving is 1 street taco (two tortillas, stacked, filled with 6 orange chicken pieces, 1 tablespoon hot honey, 2 tablespoons creamy cilantro-lime slaw, and 1 tablespoon pickled red onion).
